Expert Reviews of LG PM-225 Red (Sprint)

Many cell phones today fall prey to the “too” syndrome: it’s too small, too big, too thick, too many features, too flimsy, too something. That’s why it’s refreshing when a cell phone like the LG PM-225 comes along. Simply put this flip phone doesn’t try to be anything more than an easy-to-use cell phone: it excels at making calls (admittedly, speakerphone calls can be muffled), has a straightforward design and menu, and battery life that would test the Energizer Bunny.

If you are a teen, do not buy this phone. I text a lot and call people about 3 times a day. With that stuff I do, the battery life does not last the whole day! I charge it every night, and even then it's just not enough! It does not have a mp3 player, and I am quite disappointed about that, since even the voice memo part makes your voice sound fuzzy. When I call, even on high volume, sometimes it's just not even. The person sounds fuzzy and it's hard for me to concentrate on the person with them not being loud enough. That just might be me though. It's a fairly easy phone. Very easy to do something, and I like that you can choose what features you want for your arrow buttons. The design is okay, but it does not have any faceplates u can put on so don't buy any from a different place! I almost broke the front of my phone by trying to put on a face plate. Also, it's a super duper fat phone. I am pretty embarrassed when my friends have out their slim phones and then mine is just so fat! It's more than an inch fat! I really wish they made it thinner because it is a pretty phone. Overall, the phone is okay. I just wish it had some extra features. But it was an easy to use and find things phone so it's a great starting out phone. I just wish I had a shorter contract with it.

This is by far the worst phone that I have ever bought. I don't know if lg does this intentionally, but all the professional reviews I've seen on the pm225 show an excellent phone well worth the money. And it's true... For about two months, anyway. When I first bought the phone, the battery life was outstanding. I could go three days or so without even seeing my phone charger. Then, the battery life dwindled - and fast. Now, I can't even make an hour long phone call on the battery. It's a weird operation: when I plug the phone (with an empty battery) into the charger, it waits about ten seconds before the charge light goes from red to green, meaning it's finished. Then, I take the phone out of the plug, open it up, and in another ten seconds the battery indicator is back down to one bar. The only time I see the red "charging" light stay on is if I dial a number, hit talk, and then plug the phone in and try to stay on the line as long as possible to get a decent charge out of it. If I have to have my phone plugged into a wire whenever I'm on it, doesn't it defeat the purpose of being a go-anywhere cell phone? Another cute "quirk" about this phone: the screen contrast changes on its own. I flip open the phone, and I can actually watch as the screen flickers from nearly black to almost white, entirely on its own. Maybe a firmware problem inside the phone? Who knows, but all that matters is that nothing sprint has done thus far has fixed my problems with this phone. They refuse to give me a new one without paying for it myself, and even then I'll just get a refurbished one. Oh, ps. Getting a new battery has not worked. I switched my battery with the one in my brother's phone (it's the same kind) to see if it made any difference, but the same thing happened. And guess what? A couple months later, now he's having the same problem that I am! I guess lg makes their phones good enough to last just long enough to get a kind review from cnet. Please, do yourself a favor and don't buy this phone.

The LG LX225 is a nice looking phone and that is it! Lousy reception indoors due to poor internal antenna. Terrible battery life and abosolutely no help available from LG!rnThey want you to send it to them for 3-4 weeks and offer nothing for you to use in the meantime. Then they tell you it is fine......I will never buy an LG phone again because of service. Sprint has a good network and most other phones work very well on it. Mine? The worst.NEVER BUY AN LG PM225 PHONE!

Just like every other person on this phone review stated, the LG LX225 battery life is awful! And it only takes 5 minutes to charge, then the first time you call someone the battery bars drop dramaticly. This is very unsafe, as your phone may not be reliable in an emergency. Also the Camera is awful, and often takes pictures of the inside of my purse! Lastley, the speaker volume is very poor, I can hardly hear the person on the other end. This phone is awful... would not recommend!!!

I really wish I had read the reviews before I got th LG LX225 cell phone. The battery on this thing has to be the worst in the industry. My phone was BRAND NEW, but it sat on a charger for a month before I actually received it- the fully charged battery lasted about 1 day before it gave me the "Powering Down" screen in the middle of a call. I have some experience in battery power, and when in doubt, start over. So I ran the battery down to the point where the phone wouldn't even try to power up anymore. I let it charge over night and the moment I made my first call, the meter jumped down to 2 bars (out of 4). This is ridiculous.
